Spotlight on this 1994 Volvo 940 Turbo Station Wagon

The car carries a gold exterior finish paired with a beige interior. It is described as being in perfect condition with everything in working order. These straightforward details matter to production teams that need a vehicle that can sit on camera for hours without mechanical issues or visible wear that would break the illusion of the scene.

This Volvo 940 Turbo Station Wagon presents a clean, understated profile typical of early-1990s family transportation. The five-door wagon body style offers plenty of glass area and a long roofline that reads clearly in wide shots. Producers filming in Maryland can use the vehicle to establish a suburban neighborhood or a quiet side street without drawing extra attention to the car itself.

Maryland Picture Cars and the Maryland Picture Car Market

Maryland Picture Cars maintains a focused selection of local vehicles so that productions shooting in the state can locate picture cars quickly. The site works alongside the larger USA Movie Cars network, which partners with similar state-level picture-car sites across the country. This arrangement lets location managers search first for vehicles already based in Maryland before arranging cross-state moves.

Rockville, Maryland sits close to major production corridors that run through the Washington-Baltimore area. Having the 1994 Volvo listed locally reduces travel time for crews that need the car on set for multiple days. USA Movie Cars supplies the national platform while Maryland Picture Cars keeps the inventory relevant to Maryland film car needs.

History of the 1994 Volvo 940 Turbo Station Wagon

The Volvo 940 series arrived as a durable, safety-focused family car built during the final years of rear-wheel-drive Volvo production. Station wagon versions were especially common in the United States, where buyers valued the extra cargo space and the brand’s reputation for longevity. By 1994 the model had already earned a reputation as a practical daily driver that could accumulate high mileage with basic maintenance.

The turbocharged engine option gave the wagon a bit more power than the base models while retaining the same boxy, functional styling that defined Volvo wagons of the era. These cars appeared regularly on American roads through the 1990s and into the early 2000s. Their familiar silhouette makes them useful for any production that wants to recreate a middle-class suburban setting without relying on more exotic or recognizable collector cars.

Maryland Picture Car Rental Uses

A gold 1994 Volvo 940 Turbo Station Wagon works well in background and establishing shots that require ordinary 1990s traffic or parked vehicles. It can serve as a character’s daily driver in period pieces set between the mid-1990s and early 2000s. The neutral color and common body style allow it to sit in a driveway or along a curb without pulling focus from the main action.

Productions shooting commercials, music videos, or branded content can also use the wagon when they need a vehicle that feels lived-in rather than flashy. Still photographers working on editorial or advertising assignments sometimes request similar period wagons to fill out residential street scenes or to provide scale next to talent. Maryland picture car rental options like this one give crews flexibility when schedules change and a local vehicle is suddenly required.
